A Parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God

The Messiah’s Place (TMP) was birthed on March 9, 2008, as a child of RCCG Heaven’s Gate Parish and a grandchild of RCCG PFC Ijesha Parish. The first worship meeting was held on March 11, 2008. The FICP Office commissioned two families to pioneer the parish—Pastor Emmanuel Aderwuyi as FICP and Bro. Rotimi Ojo as his assistant. Soon after, a young couple, Brother and Sister Wale, joined from Heaven’s Gate to strengthen the workforce.

Our Beginning

The first service was held at the residence of Bro. Rotimi and Sis. Margaret Ojo in Thomas Estate, Ajah. Inspired by the vision of Pastor Femi Oregbade, the leaders were led to plant the church along the Lekki–Epe Expressway, between Thomas Estate and Awoyaya.

Through divine direction, a retired military officer and friend of Pastor Aderwuyi leased a plot of land opposite Eko-Akete for ₦600,000 annually. A small structure seating about 40 people was erected. Within six months, the church outgrew the space, leading to its expansion.

Over the years, TMP transitioned through four structures. The church also purchased adjoining land, which has since become its permanent home.

A Heart for the Great Commission

From inception, TMP focused strongly on evangelism and discipleship, which fueled rapid growth and raised many ministers who serve God faithfully today.

Pastor Aderwuyi also championed compassion ministry, particularly in education. He observed many less-privileged children in the community who were unable to attend school. With the support of like-minded members, TMP established a free school funded by the church—covering tuition, uniforms, meals, and materials. This initiative also became a refuge for children whose families fled the Boko Haram crisis in northern Nigeria.

TMP further played a significant role in the growth of the Decapolis under the leadership of Pastor Femi Oregbade. Many pastors emerged from TMP, and fourteen (14) parishes have been birthed under the leadership of Pastor Emmanuel and Pastor (Mrs.) Esther Aderwuyi.

A New Chapter

In January 2015, God brought Pastor Sina and Pastor (Mrs.) Aloisola Olaseju to TMP as Pastors-in-Charge of Area 022 (later reclassified as Area 019). With a God-given three-year blueprint, they were instructed to:

Settle and integrate with the church.
Build the “wall” — develop and rebuild the church’s physical structure.
Build God’s people spiritually.

The temporary church structure was demolished in July 2015. With the sacrificial commitment of members, leaders, engineers, partners, and the Province 24 leadership, the new sanctuary was completed in July 2017.

This season was marked by remarkable testimonies—members bought land, built homes, started businesses, secured new jobs, received promotions, and welcomed safe deliveries. God honored every sacrifice.

In September 2017, the new sanctuary was dedicated, and TMP was promoted from Area status to Zonal Headquarters, Province 9, Lagos Province 24.

During this two-year period:

90 new believers completed Baptismal Class and were baptized.
40 participants graduated from the Workers-in-Training programme.
61 members completed the School of Disciples (SOD).
10 ministers graduated from the Redeemed Christian School of Ministry (RII).
Four new parishes were commissioned.
“Church on the Wall,” a structured evangelism outreach, was launched.

Our Current Leadership

In January 2019, following an official transfer, the Olasejus handed over to Pastor David and Pastor (Mrs.) Yemisi Ajulo, who assumed leadership on February 3, 2019.

Under their stewardship, TMP continues to grow spiritually and structurally. One of their core mandates is to build men and strengthen the workforce, ensuring that ministers and leaders serve with excellence and accountability.

Significant progress has also been recorded in infrastructure and ministry development. Today, TMP boasts:

A vibrant Youth & Young Adults Fellowship
A restructured Men’s Fellowship
Stronger discipleship programmes and spiritual development structures

What began in 2008 as a simple structure seating 40 people has grown into a thriving Zonal Headquarters impacting lives spiritually, socially, and economically.
